Reporting to the Foundation Administrator, the Philanthropy and Engagement Officer is primarily responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, closing and stewarding major gifts in support of the Foundation’s mission and growth.
The ideal candidate possesses a measurable track record of securing major gifts, pledges, corporate sponsorships and estate bequests, preferably within a capital and/or comprehensive campaign.
The selected individual will collaborate with leadership to develop long-term philanthropy strategies to support UF Health St.
Johns’ health care services and programs.
Essential Responsibilities
Identifies, cultivates, solicits, closes and stewards major gift prospects and donors, to include outright gifts, multi-year pledges, corporate sponsorships and planned gifts.
Manages an ongoing portfolio of major gift prospects and donors (approximately 100) and creates personalized strategies for each stage of the fundraising cycle.
Conducts meaningful personal visits with major and planed gift prospects, as well as current donors.
Updates and maintains contact reports in a timely manner and implements next steps moves processes according to an established schedule.
Creates compelling, customized proposals for donor support and successfully closes gift that contribute to achieving annual goals and accomplishing long-term goals.
Participates in all fundraising campaigns and events, to include planning, implementing and attending.
Extends a high level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders and builds relationships through trust, teamwork and communication.
Performs other duties as determined necessary for achieving the Foundation’s mission, goals and values.
Requirements
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, Public Relations or related area is required.
Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) or other fundraising professional development strongly preferred.
A minimum of 3-5 years of measurable experience in a healthcare foundation or similar work environment is required.
