This key role collaborates with cross-functional teams, drive process improvements, and utilizes data-driven insights to enhance efficiency, accuracy, quality, and overall customer satisfaction.
The Manger will be a key driver in optimizing our supply chain by spearheading inventory management and quality assurance strategies.
The manager supervises buying, inventory control and quality.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Maintain ICQA Boards, generate reports and all other means of communicating cycle count results and inventory-related information to the facility.
Responsible for ensuring all ICQA related training is completed and documented.
Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of all key inventory control and quality assurance functions.
Manage company cycle counting program, including design and implementation of the program and any needed changes.
Provide direction and management for the procurement and purchasing for the company.
Work directly with facility leadership to plan and execute customer-level physical inventories.
Working with facility leadership, develop cycle count programs per customer.
Support on-site physical inventories at the facility where appropriate.
Work directly with facility leadership to Champion Quality initiatives.
Analyze inventory and quality trends to determine the drivers of the variances, initiate correct actions, and collaborate with operations on the implementation of those corrective actions and process changes.
Approve proposed corrective actions.
Review all operation’s NCR/CAR responses prior to final submission to Quality for Approval.
Maintain records for inventory accuracy trends, inventory reconciliations, and inventory audits.
Manage weekly/monthly/ YTD reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
Analyze inventory management systems, procedures, and their results, recommending changes, writing modifications, and coordinating their implementation to improve integrity, control, and the capability to meet company objectives.
Provide technical guidance to personnel on inventory management system.
Responsible for seeing that documentation in the form of procedures and work instructions are available and current for critical functions.
Assist in training employees in required ICQA Procedures.
Schedule planned inventory cycle counts and report on completion percentage, productivity, and results of counts.
Conduct ongoing operational audits against best practices and report results to facility leadership.
Develop action plans based on results of operational audits aimed at improving operational best practices and discipline.
Conduct location spot audits outside of the cycle count program.
May have some customer-facing interaction.
Maintain ongoing knowledge and training in new standards and quality certifications.
Additional duties as warranted based on individual facility needs include but are not limited to: Conduct and report on Quality Audits per SLA agreement with customer.
Oversee projects related to Quality and Inventory as directed by customer or management team.
Manage Non-Conformance Reporting system for facility.
Provide root cause analysis of inventory variances to operations.
Recommend and implement process changes to eliminate inventory variances.
Provides leadership to staff in terms of quality analysis tools, customer reporting, functional requirements, and process design.
Assists with creating policies and procedures as needed to meet operational, financial, and quality requirements.
Researches and resolves inventory problems or issues in a timely manner.
Implement, communicate, and train functional departments including, but not limited to, receiving, shipping, warehouse, production, procurement/planning, on cycle counting and physical inventories.
Audit daily inventory transactions as needed.
Coordinate the reporting and disposition of excess inventory.
Attends meetings and assists in developing process improvements to ensure inventory integrity.
Interaction with internal and external auditors as needed.
Detailed understanding of all ERP systems and inventory control.
Manages buyer and inventory control teams.
Additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications: 4 or more years of experience in a manager position within the ICQA function.
Five (5) years or more experience working with end-users in an manufacturing environment.
Experience with aluminum fencing a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, required; may substitute years of experience in lieu of degree.
Certification in ASQ, Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant certification preferred.
Experience holding a team accountable for achieving results.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred).
Experience with Share Point preferred.
Proficient in all Microsoft business applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and the ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
Effective communication skills to work effectively with a broad group of leaders and employees across the organization.
