Psalm 100:1 – 2_ NIV At Ponte Vedra Presbyterian Church (PVPC), our mission is to guide, support and inspire families to cultivate a vibrant and transformative Christian life, embracing biblical principals and values, as well as fostering a deep sense of belonging and purpose within our church community.
*Role and Responsibilities* 1.
Lead and coordinate all aspects of worship music for all services and events at PVPC.
2.
Serve as PVPC’s main technical manager for audio and visual aspects of worship services.
3.
Establish and support a robust music program for PVPC’s youth ministries.
4.
Manage and expand PVPC’s social media presence and establish other creative media outreach.
5.
Be responsible for administering the worship ministries from a budgetary and compliance standpoint.
*Worship Leadership* 1.
Collaborate with pastoral team to plan all aspects of each worship service or special event, including music selection, creative elements, such as audio, visual and lighting – tying all into to the central theme and for smooth flow of service.
2.
Provide guidance and direction and support to worship team musicians, vocalists and tech booth members so that each service’s worship music is performed in a very professional manner.
3.
Foster an atmosphere of spiritual growth and connection through worship selecting music which invokes congregational participation.
Provide a variety of worship music, musical instruments, technology and creative arts in order to appeal and reach a multigenerational congregation.
4.
Recruit, train, and mentor worship team members (volunteers and contract musicians) and technical volunteers, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and spiritual growth.
*Technical Management* 1.
Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of all audio, visual, and lighting equipment in the sanctuary and throughout the campus.
2.
Test to ensure the technical quality and reliability of the equipment during services and events.
Have a working knowledge of how each piece works and how it complements the other tech components.
3.
Train and supervise a host of volunteers or contract workers for operating the equipment and for technical support.
*Youth Ministries Worship Program* 1.
Work closely with Director of Youth Ministries to develop a worship ministry that will complement Sunday services.
2.
Recruit and audition volunteers for a praise band, and vocalists.
Provide leadership in rehearsals, music selection, and flow of worship.
This is similar to the guidance and leadership which is provided for PVPC’s worship ministries.
3.
Help plan youth special musical events with the Director of Youth Ministries.
*Social Media and Podcast* 1.
Work with ministry leaders to improve congregations’ social media presence.
2.
Help to establish podcast and/or weekly devotions that can be used to disciple worshippers as well as reach and connect with our community and beyond.
*Administrative Duties* 1.
Build and maintain a music and equipment library with accurate records of music licenses, equipment inventory, and service scheduling.
2.
Develop and manage the worship budget, including the necessary amount of contract musicians, equipment purchases, maintenance, and other related expenses.
3.
Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and other church-related activities, as needed.
4.
Post chord charts, MP3s and other necessary elements for musicians each week.
5.
Weekly meetings with Director of Operations to assure worship aligns with Senior Pastor’s vision.
*Qualifications and Education Requirements* · A mature Christian with full belief and understanding in reformed theology (PCA’s core beliefs).
· Proficiency in various musical instruments and singing – both solo and in group settings.
· Bachelor’s degree in music, worship arts, or related field preferred, but not required.
· Strong creative, leadership, and organizational skills – managing with high-energy and a positive attitude.
· Good coach who can build people up and developing the fullest of their potential.
· Proficient (or able to learn and fully master) Planning Center and ProPresenter.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities – able to speak, lead worship and prayer – in front of large audiences.
· Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
· A desire to support and better all ministries of PVPC.
