The Radiology Supervisor oversees daily operations of the department to ensure efficient operational flow and provision
of care to patients.
This position is responsible for analysis and reporting on clinical operations and other administrative
duties while serving as a lead Rad Tech providing direct care services to patients
Assists in the provision of direct supervision and leadership for all functions of the specialty to include disciplinary action,
the hire and termination process, and employee performance review.
Maintains a posted work schedule to include call rotation for Rad Techs and maintains equipment in proper working
order and acquires service as needed.
Provides direct supervision and leadership for Hospital Imaging in the absence of the Director or during rotation of
administrative “call”.
Liaisons with Radiologists for exam protocols.
Liaisons with FIC Manager, Imaging for staff rotation to Imaging Center.
Accurately performs radiological exams to department standards including technique, positioning, protocols and
administration of contrast material.
Assures quality of x-rays films presented to radiologist or physician for interpretation and consults with doctor to obtain
optimum scan.
Prepares contrast material, verifies physician order, and injects patients for I.
V.
procedure using proper sterile
technique.
Uses table pads, sheets, side rails/locks, to assure patient comfort and safety.
Accurately utilizes initial side
markers.
Provides efficient transportation for patients both to and from requesting service areas.
Uses wheelchairs, stretchers,
beds in an appropriate fashion.
Assists patient in and out of wheelchair and stretchers using proper wheel locking
procedures.
Cleans wheelchairs and stretchers and reports needed repairs to supervisor.
Coordinates the selection and use of supplies, minor equipment, X-rays, reports, and files between departmental units
as needed.
Coordinates schedules of equipment and personnel and maintains an efficient work flow.
Participates in departmental and hospital wide QA/QI program as requested.
Education
Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology or Equivalent

Completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school for degree, or diploma by which the
graduate would qualify as a Registered Radiologic Technologist
Experience Requirements:
4-years Clinical Radiography experience required.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Licensing Requirements:
Radiologic Technologist License in Florida
American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Additional Information:
BLS, provided by American Heart Association (AHA), required within 30 days of hire.
