Job Summary:
As a Health Club Supervisor you’ll be responsible for supervising and supporting the day to day activities of the health and fitness center while ensuring our guests’ complete satisfaction.
The Supervisor is responsible for supervising directing and supporting a group of employees.
Specific responsibilities include training and coaching employees assigning work schedules and tasks and completing employee performance appraisals.
The Supervisor is often also responsible for employee relations particularly creating and maintaining a positive work environment.
The Supervisor usually reports to a General Manager (i.
e.
Store Manager Branch Manager Office Manager); that is the Supervisor is typically not responsible for the overall operations of the company office branch or store.
Responsibilities: QUALIFICATIONS: One-Two (1-2) years of previous supervisory experience required experience in a health club or spa atmosphere preferred Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines with particular attention to detail and excellence in guest service Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines with particular attention to detail and excellence in guest service Knowledge and Ability to use various computer software programs including Microsoft Office – Outlook Word Excel Must have the ability to communicate clearly and directly with guests both verbally and through written communication; using a positive clear speaking voice both in person and over the phone Ability to observe performance and detect signs of emergency situations and respond with proper action Ability to stand sit move around the entire property for extended lengths of time Ability to lift pull push and move around objects up to 50lbs Ability to participate in the creation of an enjoyable work environment Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff some of whom will require high levels of patience tact and diplomacy Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that will include evenings and weekends Strong oral and written communication.
Excellent interpersonal and demonstrated motivational skills.
Skilled at being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
Solid critical thinking skills and the ability to use sound reasoning to solve problems.
Ability to use computer keyboard telephone and other related business equipment.
Proficient in business-related computer software (i.
e.
Microsoft Word Excel Access etc.
).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Assisting in scheduling employees and assigning work to ensure proper coverage Ensuring that all team members are properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively perform their jobs Performing opening and closing duties Assisting with scheduling appointments and services Assisting with ongoing training of the health club team Maintaining a neat and clean work environment Interacting with guests in a professional and service oriented manner Answering questions about available services general property information and amenities of the spa fitness center classes pool and property Promoting and selling spa and health club services and retail products Resolving guest complaints and communicating with General Manager/Front Office Manager regarding the issue and resolution in a timely manner Monitoring supply of guest amenities and supplies and completing purchase orders as appropriate Maintaining an up to date working knowledge of all spa services packages promotions classes and other services and retail products offered Supervise staff which may include employee recruiting training scheduling and coaching.
Monitor and assess employees’ performance and make improvements or take corrective action as needed.
Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
Create and maintain a professional environment and positive employee relations.
Implement corporate and departmental policies procedures and service standards in conjunction with management.
Work as an integral part of the management team by providing support communicating attending meetings and sharing information.
At times in the absence of the Manager be responsible for the general operation of the business and be able to make decisions and take reasonable action.
