The Work You Will Do: RESIDENT ASSISTANT PARK MANAGER- 37001359 DESCRIPTION: Ravine Gardens State Park seeks a positive, out-going, self-motivated park service professional to fill a Resident Assistant Park Manager position, providing visitor services, maintenance, protection, administration, and resource management.
This position requires a high-energy, dedicated, innovative individual who is committed to protecting and interpreting Florida’s natural and cultural resources.
Incumbent must have experience in management of personnel and knowledge of agency policies.
Incumbent will work with Park Manager to supervise park operations at three locations: Ravine Gardens State Park, Dunns Creek State Park, and Palatka to St.
Augustine State Trail and ensure agency standards are met.
This position with the Park Manager supervises five full-time employees and several part-time employees.
Park Residency is required.

54 annually Your Specific Responsibilities: ADMINISTRATION Participate in park employee recruiting, hiring, supervising, training, and discipline.
Schedule, plan work, and supervise staff assigned to park operations.
Implement and enforce all laws, rules, operating policies, lease agreements, and permits pertaining to these areas.
Administer terms of collective bargaining agreement and maintain good employee relations.
Prepare budget requests, provide for effective expenditure of appropriations, supervise collection of fees, is responsible for all facility and equipment inventories, and implement established policies for fiscal control and accountability.
Prepare, implement, and controls work scheduling and assignments for staff.
VISITOR SERVICES Implement and supervise areas’ interpretive programs.
Meet public, interpret areas’ resources, facilities, and services; resolve visitor complaints; and provide for good public relations.
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT Implement and guide resource management plan for these areas including ecological burning, native species propagation, hydrology issues including water quality/quantity and erosion control, non-native plant, and animal removal.
MAINTENANCE Plan, implement, and control areas’ maintenance programs.
Identify maintenance needs and provide supervision and management of staff to maintain facilities and support equipment for efficient area operation.
PROTECTION Ensure that park rules are enforced pertaining to all natural, historic, and archaeological facilities and resources and use thereof, for park visitors’ enjoyment.
Performs other related duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: building maintenance and construction; park service management and operations; heavy equipment operation; maintenance and resource management techniques.
Knowledge of and experience in: use of computers and related software.
Skill in: using a variety of hand tools, small engines, and power tools.
Ability to: supervise people; determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure proper completion of work assignments; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; prepare and maintain schedules and reports.
Minimum Qualifications: Valid driver’s license.
Must Reside on park property Successfully complete a background and fingerprint check BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT: This position is a Position of Trust.
