*Position: Warehouse Associate: *The Warehouse Associate / Truck Driver is in charge of receiving larger furniture items in the warehouse of St.
Vincent de Paul Thrift Store as well as collecting larger furniture items from donor's homes, loading them into the delivery truck, and unloading back at the store.
Reports to Warehouse Manager .
*JOB DUTIES:*
* Drives Company vehicles in collecting merchandise donated as directed.
* Helps maintain a clean and safe work environment.
* Delivers and picks up items to and from client’s homes as directed.
* Greets donors and accepts their donations, thanking them and giving them a receipt acknowledging their donations.
* You may be assigned to work in the warehouse.
* Assists customers in taking purchased merchandise to their cars as needed.
* Cleans exterior of buildings, removing leaves, trash, debris, etc.
as needed.
* Sorts merchandise received and discards any merchandise that cannot be sold due to extreme wear and tear, damage, rust, etc.
* This position works 40 hours.
Monday through Saturday availability, with days determined by the Manager.
* Performs other duties that are assigned by the Manager or Assistant Manager.
*POSITION REQUIREMENTS:*
* Vehicle drivers - able to drive box trucks as directed.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable on our auto insurance policy.
* Climbing in and out of the truck, safely operating a lift-gate, dolly, and furniture moving equipment, strapping items down in order to ensure safe placement of furniture in the donor's home or our store.
* Ability to greet donors with a smile and make a good first impression upon their arrival at SVDP, or upon arrival at donor's home for pick-ups and deliveries.
* Able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to lift heavier items with assistance.
Ability to bend, twist and stoop consistently throughout shift.
* Ability to work on feet for the bulk of their assigned shift.
* Ability to understand and fully comply with all company safety directives.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in the outdoor elements throughout your shift.
* Self-motivated, organized, and able to work as part of a team.
* Ability to speak, write and understand English.
* Ability to set appropriate limits, work under deadlines and multi-task.
* Successfully pass Law Enforcement background screening.
* Complies with all applicable training requirements.
* Complies with all company safety, personnel and operational policies and procedures.
* Complies with work schedule to ensure effective operations of Agency programs.
* Contributes positively as a member of a productive and cooperative team.
